Well, it has been a whirl wind of a month, and it’s not even over yet! May and June have been super crazy and I am ready to welcome July with open arms.
I work as a full-time crop consultant for a local agriculture company. I love my job but spring time is so hectic trying to get crops into the ground. This year has been even worse!! Planting has been slowed because of unruly weather. This has made things tough for Jason as well, since he was still working for my family’s farm this spring. Imagine long days in the field, then coming home to a garage full of bikes that need attention. Needless to say, we haven’t gotten much sleep the past few weeks! Despite being caught up in our day jobs, we have managed to get several bikes out the door. Jason installed what seems like his millionth set of KST bars. Had a few bikes in for full details. Mounted a couple JNR air-ride kits. Worked on some odd end jobs and bikes that needed fixing. Aside from all our customers bikes, we have also been making way on our police bike. Last year we got our hands on a retired police bike. Since then we have striped it down. Added audio, air-ride, custom parts, 23” front wheel with rake, to name a few things. We are on the home stretch of this build and can’t wait to see it all together when it’s done. Some other exciting news to tell you all about: Jason has decided to start working full time at BRC! With spring planting finally over. Jason has made the decision to stop farming and build Back Road Customs. It is amazing how far we have come in one year. Now that he has more time to dedicate to his customers and their bikes, I can only imagine where we will be in another year! We could have not made this huge step without the support of ours customers. Thanks to everyone who has supported us along the way!

Can you remember the day you bought your first motorcycle? All the excitement and joy you had, knowing that buying that bike was going to be the best decision ever. I can remember all that excitement like it was yesterday.
Our adventure into the motorcycle world started about 8 years ago. My boyfriend Jason (now husband) brought home his very first bike. A Harley Davidson Super Glide. He had never ridden a motorcycle before buying that bike. He couldn’t even ride the dang thing home because he didn’t have his license yet! But none the less, he was excited to have it. Within a few weeks, he got his license and I went for my first ride EVER on a bike. I was terrified. But to my surprise, I loved it! The wind in my hair, the freedom I felt, just a girl, and her thoughts and the open road. We had that bike for a couple years before upgrading to a Street Glide. A good investment on our part. So much more comfortable and roomy! The day we bought the street glide, was the day when my husband couldn’t leave the bike how it was. I mean everyone has a black street glide right! Little by little and piece by piece he started to customize his bike. Over the next few years, Jason managed to completely change his bike. Once Jason finished his own personal build. He knew it was time to help other riders customize their bikes. In March of 2018, Back Road Customs was born. The passion Jason has for motorcycles is what has fueled his drive in building a motorcycle shop. For every rider out there. At Back Road Customs we believe that every rider should enjoy the open road like we do, on the bike that they love. We are a one stop shop and take pride in providing excellent products and quality service. Our business may be one year old. But we have our eyes set on the open road and can't wait to see where the twists and turns takes us. |
